About me

Andreas Wick was born, lives and works in Bremen-Walle (Northern Germany) as graphic designer. Since the 90s he was also working at different theaters and galleries e.g. the GaDeWe (Galerie des Westens – gallery of the westside). In this context, he presented many of his artwork in some team exhibitions.

In 2019 a greater exhibition of artwork took place at the 2nach4 gallery, framed by the art show called Kunst.Hafen.Walle. Corona has occurred a break in exhibitions. 2020 Andreas Wick took part at Luxembourg Art Prize. In November 2021 works were exhibited at the Kunst.Hafen.Walle Event Artshow.

Walk of Life

Andreas Wick is a versatile artist from Bremen whose artistic journey, since the early 1990s, has been shaped by an unusual interplay between fine art, graphic design, theater, and digital media. His works are created both in the traditional manner — with paint and brush — and on the digital screen, thereby deliberately navigating the space between the analog visual world and digital transformation.

His artistic roots run deep in Bremen's cultural scene. Wick has been active in the theater and gallery scenes since the 1990s — including at the Galerie des Westens (GaDeWe) — and found a platform for his own texts and images within the Bremen DaDa fraction and the KaFeDaDa collective. Since then, his works have been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions. These include Kunst.Hafen.Walle, ArtFest at Constructor University, exhibitions in Bremen's cultural scene, and a presentation at the ArtBox Gallery in New York. In 2025, his works were featured, among other places, in an exhibition at the GaDeWe marking its 40th anniversary, as well as in the maritime series "Waterworlds–Sail" at the Stadthaus Vegesack. This was followed in 2026 by the exhibition "Mensch & Licht."

What makes his work special is the combination of artistic intuition and decades of professional visual experience. As a trained print preparer and longtime graphic designer, Wick understands both the technical aspects of an image and its impact. For him, illustration, photography, layout, digital image editing, and traditional painting are not separate worlds, but rather different tools of a shared visual language.

Thematically, Wick repeatedly explores motifs that lie somewhere between reality, memory, and fantasy. His works tell stories, draw on regional and maritime references, and combine clear visual motifs with a playful, sometimes ironic dimension. His exploration of Walle's maritime past, in particular, demonstrates how personal perception and local memory can give rise to a distinct visual world.

Andreas Wick thus represents an art form that cannot be confined to a single medium. His works emerge at the intersection of classical painting and digital imagery, where graphic design meets fine art, and where his experience in theater and visual communication flows into his visual language.

An artist straddling two worlds — analog and digital, image and stage, reality and imagination.

About Art — Exploring the possibilities of an Artificial Life

Apocalyptic Amazons presenting the End of All
Apocalyptic Amazons presenting the End of All

Creating artwork can be a deeply personal and meaningful experience for those who are passionate about art. For many, it is a form of self-expression and a way to explore their emotions, memories, and ideas through their art. Art allows people to experience and express their feelings in a creative and unique way, and to express themselves without the need for words. It can also be used to explore and celebrate different cultures, values, and beliefs. Art can be a form of healing, a way to express and process difficult emotions, and a way to connect with and understand others. Art is a powerful way for people to express themselves and create something beautiful.

Art is an essential part of our lives, as it helps bring beauty, joy, and meaning to our lives. Art has the power to connect us to the world around us, and to our own inner selves. Art helps us to recognize beauty in the world, to see and appreciate the diversity of life, and to express our emotions and experiences. Art also helps us to develop empathy and understanding, as it allows us to explore different cultures, beliefs, and points of view. Art is a form of communication and expression that allows us to connect with others and to build relationships. In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, art is a necessary reminder of beauty, love, and hope.
